Is my video uploaded anywhere?
No. Recording, playback, and speech-to-text all happen inside your browser — there is no upload endpoint for audio or video at all. The only data that reaches our server is text: the job description you paste and your answer transcripts (needed to generate questions and feedback). Privacy here is architectural, not a policy promise.
How are the questions generated?
A language model reads your pasted job description and builds a realistic one-way set: one warm-up, two behavioral questions targeting the role’s core competencies, and one scenario question, each with authentic prep/answer timings. They are not pulled from a fixed bank, so two different JDs get genuinely different interviews.
Why can’t I redo an answer?
Because the real thing won’t let you either. The no-retake rule is deliberately preserved — practicing with do-overs trains a calmness you won’t have on the day. Finish a full session, review everything, then run a fresh session to try again.
What do I get in the $12 deep review?
Per answer: a STAR coverage check (which beats you hit and missed), filler words actually found in your transcript, pacing analysis against the time cap, and a stronger rewrite built only from experiences you actually mentioned. No. OneWayPrep is fully independent — not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any interview platform. It does not access their systems or predict their scoring. It simulates the format, which is public knowledge.
Will this guarantee I pass my interview?
No, and be wary of anything that claims to. What it does: builds camera comfort, answer structure, and timing discipline under the same pressure you’ll face. Those measurably improve performance, but hiring decisions involve factors no practice tool controls.
What equipment do I need?
A laptop or desktop with a webcam and microphone, using a current Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox. Phone browsers can work but the real interview will likely be on your computer — practice on the machine you’ll use.
My transcript shows "(no speech detected)" — what happened?
Usually a muted or wrong microphone. Check the browser’s mic permission and input device, and confirm the preview shows your camera before starting. Speech recognition runs locally, so a very quiet signal can also produce empty transcripts — speak at normal interview volume.
